An API connection can be set up between your VPMS and the MRV Cockpit. Required reporting data is then automatically transferred to the MRV Cockpit for verification, significantly reducing the need for manual data entry.
How does the data transfer work?
To ensure a smooth data transfer between your VPMS and the MRV Cockpit, please keep the following in mind:
- As long as reporting forms remain in Draft status, corrections made in the VPMS will also be reflected in the MRV Cockpit.
- Reporting forms that have been declined by the auditor are automatically returned to Draft status and can receive updated data based on corrections made in the VPMS.
- How frequently data is updated in the MRV Cockpit depends on your VPMS provider's API configuration. Updates may range from hourly to once per night. Keep this in mind before submitting reporting forms for verification. If you are unsure about the update frequency, please contact your VPMS provider.
- Data transfer is one-way only: VPMS → MRV Cockpit. Changes made directly in the MRV Cockpit are not transferred back to your VPMS. Your VPMS therefore remains the single source of truth.
- The revision history of each field shows where the data originated. Data transferred via the API is marked “VPMS import”, while manually entered data is identified by the respective user name.
❗Important: For a new ship, you must first add the ship to the MRV Cockpit and inform your VPMS provider so that the API can be activated for this ship.
